Newcomers Network ResearchOur Research Projects

Newcomers Network was established as a result of a research project completed in the year 2000 by our Founder, Sue Ellson and supervised by the University of South Australia. 96 people who had moved to Melbourne within the last five years were surveyed and a summary of the findings will be posted here soon.

We conducted a second research project supervised by the University of Melbourne in 2004 and we surveyed 541 people worldwide and an updated summary of the findings will be posted here soon.

In 2017, we will be conducting our third research project to look at the topic of ‘Newcomers and Technology.’ How has technology changed the moving experience for local and international movers, are people more connected or more socially isolated and what techniques and strategies are most effective now compared to the years 2000 and 2004? Details coming soon!

Other Research Findings

We love sharing research findings from across the globe. As we are currently updating our website, we will provide details of previous research findings soon!
