The Menzies Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Sydney CBD, overlooking Wynyard Park. The hotel offers an unparalleled standard of personal service in time honored tradition. Local attractions including the Sydney Opera House, the famous Rocks and Darling Harbour tourist precincts are all just a short stroll away. The hotel boasts an array of facilities including two restaurants, two cafes, four bars, an indoor pool, spa, sauna, 24 hour room service, and also offers direct rail access to airports and public transport.

Come and join us for a conversation about something other than the weather and sport! All ages and backgrounds welcome.

Please bring sufficient cash to pay for your own drinks and food (you don't need to buy a round of drinks for other guests).

You need to book to attend using the registration form below so that we can tell the venue how many people will be coming.

It is an entirely self selected group - everyone who attends is looking to meet new people (whether you are a local, have moved to Sydney recently or moved some time ago).

You will need to tell us that you are coming by completing the registration form below. There is no additional cost.

Designed for

People who have moved to Sydney, from the country, interstate or overseas.  This includes expatriates, migrants, international students, Australian repatriates, people on work assignment etc.

People visiting Sydney.

You can come on your own or with other people.

You can be any age, children can come with you.

In the past, this event has attracted both men and women, some single, some in relationships, some who have come on their own, some who have come with other people. Some people come on a regular basis and others only come once.

These people have moved to Sydney from countries all over the world, and have spoken many different languages and had many different faiths. Some are Australians who have returned to Australia after time overseas and others have lived in Australia a long time but still felt the need to connect with other newcomers (and share their wisdom and advice).

Whatever your story, you will be welcome at our events.

Event Description

This informal social event has been designed to help you meet other people who have moved to Sydney.

You may like to bring your business or personal card to share with other people, or a small notepad and pen if you are given information from others that you would like to keep.

We usually attract between 10 and 20 people each month. We encourage everyone to move around during the table and exchange contact details with as many people as possible. Everyone is most welcome and you can continue to attend other Welcome to Sydney events as frequently and as many times as you like.

These events are also held in Melbourne on the Second Friday of the month (since January 2005)
http://www.newcomersnetwork.com/nn/content/view/172/29/

and in Adelaide on the Second Friday of the month (since July 2007)
