Networking Tips It is important to create three network streams in your daily life.
Social - includes all of your friends and family.
Professional - includes all of the people you work with and the connections you have within the industry if you ever change roles.
Personal - where you meet people who share the same passion/interest/hobby/sport as you and you are recognised for your own personal contribution rather than your social or professional background.
Newcomers who move often have to re-create all three networks (which is why it takes so long to feel like you belong). Ensuring that you establish and nurture these networks is vital to your success in any location.
At the same time, keeping in touch with your 'old' networks at least three times a year will keep your existing networks alive.
