Online at http://www.newcomersnetwork.com/newsletters/091113_adelaide_event_reminder.php
Hello
The end of the year is nearly here. We are currently looking for someone to host the Welcome to Adelaide events (only two hours once a month - so if you are interested, please reply to this email).
Until we find someone new, we hope you can go out and meet new people through your hobbies and interests.
Welcome to Adelaide Friday 11/12/09
6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Atrium Cocktail Lounge,
(when you walk in from North Terrace, it is in the back left corner on the ground floor),
Hyatt Regency Adelaide,
North Terrace (opposite Blyth Street and
between the Adelaide Railway Station and the Adelaide Convention Centre)
Adelaide. The event on 11 December will be the official 'end of year' drinks celebration - so please put this date in your diary now.

Farewell Party for International Students 28/10/09
At this time of year it is time to farewell international students who are returning to their home country. In Melbourne, we held the first ever Farewell Party and you can read all about it at
http://www.newcomersnetwork.com/australia/melbourne/farewell_party_for_international_students.php and the article I wrote on this topic http://www.openforum.com.au/content/international-students-cash-cows-or-lonely-hearts
Research participants wanted - expatriates and repatriates
Newcomers who are part of a couple and have moved to Australia can complete a survey on 'Couples coping with international job relocations' for Claire Hitchings at Griffith University, Queensland
http://www.newcomersnetwork.com/research/claire_hitchings_couples_coping_with_international_job_relocations.php
People who have returned to their home country after living in another country can complete a survey on Repatriation distress – re-testing the cultural identity models for Debby van der Schuit at Erasmus University, The Netherlands
http://www.newcomersnetwork.com/research/debby_van_der_schuit_repatriation_distress_retesting_the_cultural_identity_models.php
By completing these surveys, you have the opportunity to help future newcomers find it much easier to settle in a new location.
You can also forward this email on to anyone who may find the information useful.
Cheers for now,
--
