They were very well received so Newcomers Network now hosts these events on the fourth Thursday of every month (except December).

We also host free Welcome to Melbourne events on the second Thursday of every month, the Christmas Day Picnic Lunch on 25 December 2010 and the Welcome Home Party for Australian Expatriates and Repatriates on 29 December 2010.

See the Metlink Melbourne website for public transport details. The venue is closest to Flinders Street Railway Station. The nearest trams travel along Flinders or Elizabeth Street.

5. Cost

There is no cost to attend this event - and you may also like to register for the Welcome to Melbourne event on the second Thursday of every month.

6. Refreshments

Please have your own refreshments either before the event or perhaps afterwards with some of the other guests (pay for your own).

7. This event is designed for

People who have moved to Melbourne, from the country, interstate or overseas. This includes expatriates, migrants, international students, Australian repatriates, people on work assignment etc.

People looking for work in Melbourne with international experience.

People wanting to network with international arrivals. Whatever your story, you will be welcome at our events.

8. Event Description

This informative event has been designed to help you learn more about living, working and networking in Melbourne and give you an opportunity to meet other people in the same situation.

You may like to bring your own business or personal card to share with other people you meet or a small notepad and pen if you are given information from others that you would like to keep.

We can host up to 30 guests, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

You will be given a name tag and can start networking with the other guests.
