1. Special Event to Farewell International Students from Melbourne

On 21 March 2005, Newcomers Network hosted a Welcome to Melbourne Ceremony at the University of Melbourne for Academics, Educators and International Students.

On 17 August 2006, Newcomers Network hosted the Victorian International Students Summit at Parliament House in Melbourne

and a follow up event to the International Student Summit at the University of Melbourne on 20 September 2006.
Over the years, we have had hundreds of international students attend our regular monthly Welcome to Melbourne events, but we would like to bring even more students together from different educational facilities across Victoria for another official international students event.
Details of the special guests handing out certificates will be posted on this page soon. We are seeking official guests from all levels of government in Australia - local, state and federal.
We also host free Living, Working and Networking in Melbourne events, the Christmas Day Picnic Lunch on 25 December 2009 and the Welcome Home Party for Australian Expatriates and Repatriates on 30 December 2009.

7. This event is designed for
International Students living in Melbourne and any organisations or individuals (friends, family etc) associated with the students.
You can come on your own or with other people. You can be any age, children can come with you. You can stay for five minutes or two hours!
Anyone who would like to attend is ALWAYS welcome at a Newcomers Network event. However, for catering purposes, please register below. This means that you do NOT have to be an international student to attend (or one who is leaving Melbourne). But the event is designed to say 'farewell' to those students who are leaving.
8. Event Description
This informal social event has been designed to help you meet other international students who have been studying in Melbourne and are about to return to their home country.
You may like to bring your own business or personal card to share with other people you meet or a small notepad and pen if you are given information from others that you would like to keep.
We encourage everyone to move around during the evening so it is easy to meet other people. Everyone is most welcome and you can continue to attend other Welcome to Melbourne events as frequently or as infrequently as you like (either before you leave Melbourne or when you return).
9. On arrival
You can receive a sticky label name tag and start chatting to other people.
