Past details
Come and join us for a conversation about something other than the weather and sport! All ages and backgrounds welcome.
Please bring sufficient cash to pay for your own drinks and food (you don't need to buy a round of drinks for other guests). You may choose to purchase food items from the bar menu or invite other guests to join you at an alternative venue for dinner later in the evening. You do not need to order an alcoholic beverage.
Some guests remain until very late - you can stay as long as you like.
It is an entirely self selected group - everyone who attends is looking to meet new people (whether you are a local, have moved to Adelaide recently or moved here some time ago). There is no cost to attend this event and is for people who have moved to Adelaide, from the country, interstate or overseas. This includes expatriates, migrants, international students, Australian repatriates, people on work assignment etc.
People visiting Adelaide. You can come on your own or with other people. You can be any age, children can come with you. You can stay for five minutes or five hours! Most guests usually arrive by 6:30pm.
In the past, this event has attracted both men and women, some single, some in relationships, some who have come on their own, some who have come with other people. Some people come on a regular basis and others only come once.
These people have moved to Adelaide from countries all over the world, and have spoken many different languages and had many different faiths. Some are Australians who have returned to Australia after time overseas and others have lived in Australia a long time but still felt the need to connect with other newcomers (and share their wisdom and advice).
Whatever your story, you will be welcome at our events.
This informal social event has been designed to help you meet other people who have moved to Adelaide.
You may like to bring your own business or personal card to share with other people you meet or a small notepad and pen if you are given information from others that you would like to keep.
We usually attract between 10 and 30 people each month. We encourage everyone to move around during the evening so it is easy to meet other people. Everyone is most welcome and you can continue to attend other Welcome to Adelaide events as frequently as you like.
