Myths About Resumes:

Myth 1. The same rules apply internationally.

Resume requirements vary from country to country including how far back into your career history you should cover in a resume, number of pages, paper size and spelling, to name a few. We develop world-class resumes that are relevant to Australian “rules”.

Myth 2. All resumes writers offer the same service.

The resume writing industry is not regulated. As a result, anyone can set up a resume business without proving competencies in the field. It is up to providers to regulate themselves. All our resume writers hold resume writing accreditation and are required to continually demonstrate ongoing learning in the field.

Myth 3. All resumes look the same.

Each resume must be crafted based on a strategy that best positions you for the job you want. While certain elements remain constant across all resumes, the “look and feel” of a resume varies from person to person depending on experience, personal history and targeted industry.

Myth 4. I won’t have much input if a resume writer develops my resume.

You will be actively involved in several stages, particularly in the information gathering process. We will provide you with customised worksheets to complete that are relevant to your field and position. This will enable us to capture important information about your professional experience and achievements. Once we’ve written your resume, you will have an opportunity to review and provide feedback.

Myth 5. 24-48 hours is sufficient time to develop a resume.

A resume should be developed with care and not rushed through. There are several stages in the resume development process – information gathering, strategising, and writing, designing, editing and proofreading. Each should be completed with attention.
