Thanks to local London international business CurrencyFair, the Australian based Newcomers Network is expanding internationally with its second international location being London, England.
Sue Ellson, the Founder and Director of Newcomers Network from Melbourne will be at the launch events at the Radisson Hotel, Leicester Square from 4pm to 7:30pm on Thursday 14th October 2010.
Ms Ellson started Newcomers Network in 1999 as a result of her own challenges of moving from Adelaide in South Australia to Melbourne in Victoria (approximately 800 kilometres). She first met Brett Meyers from CurrencyFair through an Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Australia and he introduced her to Tim Porter in London.
Mr Porter is keen to host the regular 'Welcome to London' events on the Second Thursday of every month as he knows how difficult it can be to settle in a new city.
Tim and Sue will also be hosting an Expatriate Business Networking event from 4pm to help people in the industry network with one another. 'After working in this sector for more than 10 years in Australia, I know how vital it is for people in the industry to come together and share contacts and opportunities to help new arrivals connect with the existing resources.
I have also completed two major relocation research projects and will be starting a new one on the topic of technology and the increasing social isolation of newcomers in November. So both events will be helping newcomers and networkers become acquainted in London. As the Convenor of the Victorian International Human Resources Network of the Australian Human Resources Institute, I am keen to share my knowledge and contacts worldwide.'
Heidi Sand-Hart, author of the recently released book 'Home Keeps Moving' will also be attending.
Media interviews can be organised from 3:45pm at the The Hampshire Bar and Restaurant, Radisson Edwardian Hotels, 31 - 36 Leicester Square
